Records Management Specialist

This position is located in the Records, Delegations and Directives Team (RDDT) Office of Administration. RDDT oversees and implements the Bureau-wide records management program. Records management support is also provided through arrangement under a service on a reimbursable agreement with other entities. At the full performance level (GS-12) the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
Specializes in all phases of records management work with respect to electronic and non-electronic records creation, maintenance, use and disposition in order to achieve adequate and proper documentation. Provides technical support in records scheduling, dispositions, accessions, transfers and files management. Inputs, sorts and retrieves data in multiple formats and uses those systems to access files, analyze data and generate reports. Participates in efforts and operations that support all media and mediums of records, in particular electronic records. Supports disaster recovery planning for records and the management of vital records. Performs Contracting Officer Representative (COR) duties. BSEE determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework and the selectee may be allowed to telework with supervisor approval. Travel, transportation, and relocation expenses will not be paid. Any travel, transportation, and relocation expenses associated with reporting for duty in this position will be the responsibility of the selected employee. This vacancy may be used to fill additional positions as vacancies become available. Minimum Qualification Requirements:
To qualify for the GS-12, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated
Experience:
1) experience performing core records management functions such as:
dispositions and files management, for paper and electronic records; 2) experience utilizing database and software applications (and configuring them to support records management program objectives) such as:
Excel, Access, , Share Point, and/or Office 365; 3) experience applying standardized file taxonomies and naming conventions; and 4) experience providing program guidance and instruction on federal records regulations and requirements to a variety of customers and stakeholders, to include application of records retention schedules. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
