Student Life Advisor (*Restricted)

Position Summary Information Basic Function The Student Life Advisor (SLA) is responsible for all campus student organizations.
He or she is responsible for the coordination of 25-30 recognized student clubs and 5-10 interest groups annually on a campus of 12,000 students.
The adviser also oversees the Student Life Club funds account.
The Student Life Advisor also assists in the planning and facilitation of Student Activities including social, educational and leadership based programming both on and off campus.
Duties and Responsibilities Reporting to the Student Life Coordinator, the SLA provides comprehensive support to all clubs, organizations and interest groups on campus and serves as the advisor for the campus Student Government Association.
The SLA is responsible for the purchasing oversight, program coordination oversight and travel arrangements for all campus student organizations.
The SLA advises student leaders on program planning, academic issues and their development in their leadership roles.
The SLA also service as a mediator for interpersonal and organizational conflicts among students or between faculty club advisors and student leaders.
The SLA assists in the development of new interest groups and student organizations and assist in club advising should the current club or organization advisor not be available.
The SLA makes referrals to campus and community resources as necessary.
The SLA oversees the budget of student organizations.
The SLA will use PeopleSoft and eVA on a daily or weekly basis.
The SLA will assist in creating the student activities calendar of events.
He or she may be responsible for communicating with vendors, scheduling, purchasing and receiving of goods and services through our online purchasing system.
The SLA will take part in the setup, facilitation and breakdown of campus and college-wide events.
The SLA will also assist in creating campus wide marketing and promotional materials and maintaining all social media sites.
Minimum Qualifications Associate's degree in a relevant field or combination of equivalent applicable experience or training or education.
Previous experience working with student life or residential life programs in an academic environment.
Demonstrated experience in customer service positions.
Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related field.
Experience as an administrator and educator in a college student life or residence life program, or combination of education, training and experience.
Demonstrated experience in planning and implementing education and informational programs in a diverse cultural environment.
Previous experience managing budgets.
Experience in an administrative support or related role Previous experience with PeopleSoft and eVA.
Familiarity with and ability to maintain social media sites.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Ability to establish goals and priorities and make decisions based on program and institutional policies.
Ability to plan and execute activities and programs for a college population.
Flexibility and willingness to learn new systems.
Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
Strong customer service skills.
Knowledge of and skill in computer usage, including Microsoft Office, Outlook, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat Reader and the use of the internet to complete research.
Familiarity with and ability to maintain Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other social media.
Experience managing budgets and spreadsheets.
High level of organizational skills.

Additional Information.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
