CARD Academy is a private day school for students with Autism, developmental delays, and Speech and Language Delays.
The school serves students between the ages of 5-22.
It is a year-round program with services from September-August.
DESCRIPTION:
CARD is seeking a qualified Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to implement speech and language treatment programs at our CARD Academy.
CARD Speech Language Pathologists are an integral part of the therapy team as their work directly influences client success.
SLPs report to the CARD Supervisor responsible for each client's case and will have a dedicated mentor who will conduct quarterly coaching sessions.
CARD provides extensive initial and on-going training and support to the SLPs.
This position is non-exempt and can be either full or part time.
DUTIES &
Responsibilities:
Implement and represent CARD policy enthusiastically Represent CARD professionally and ethically to internal and external stakeholders Evaluate and treat articulation, phonological, expressive/receptive language, pragmatic language, oral motor, and dysphagia disorders and delays Develop and implement treatment plans and goals for articulation, phonological, expressive/receptive language, pragmatic language, oral motor, and dysphagia disorders and delays Monitor clients' progress and adjust treatment programs accordingly Maintain open and regular communication with case supervisors regarding client progress and make recommendations as needed Actively participate in clinic meetings; make sure all staff on clients' teams are knowledgeable and able to follow through with recommended strategies to promote clients' abilities Provide trainings to team members to promote appropriate follow through with speech and language program recommendations Refer clients for additional medical treatment and/or evaluations as needed Provide education to parents in techniques for more effective communication as related to their needs Provide top-quality one on one therapy in home and clinic settings Set and meet performance goals for case quality, clinic quality and billable time Attend introductory and on-going training Maintain accurate and timely records including timesheets and reports Report to clinical supervisor on client progress and provide treatment recommendations Participate in regular staff meetings Minimize cancellations of scheduled shifts Maintain minimum billable requirement EXPERIENCE &
Qualifications:
Speech Language Pathology licensure in the state of Virginia Current Certificate of Clinical Competence by the American Speech Language Hearing Association 3-5 years relevant work experience Experience/interest in working with children Experience/interest in using a multidisciplinary treatment approach Availability of 20-40 hours per week Basic computer skills COMPENSATION &
