The Chief Engineer will play a critical leadership role in supporting the execution and growth of the Counter-Unmanned Systems business area.
This candidate must have excellent written and oral communications skills and must be able to effectively interface with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
They should have strong collaboration skills, be able to manage multiple, potentially conflicting assignments, while ensuring accuracy, adherence to documentation standards, and timely delivery of all work products.
They should have experience developing, deploying, and sustaining complex software system architecturesMore About the Role:
The Chief Engineer provides the vision, strategy, and leadership to drive innovation and technology advancement across CACI's C-UxS business.
They work closely with program leadership, the engineering team, finance, and business development to inform and influence CACI's market strategy, product roadmap and new business pursuits.
This executive serves in a highly visible internal leadership role and as the company's technical lead with external stakeholders.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
Oversee technical execution across all programs in the C-UxS Division.
Inform CACI's C-UxS Strategic Plan by creating a technology roadmap aligned with business pursuits to create competitive advantage in the market.
Serve as a catalyst for continuous process improvement to realize development efficiencies, increases in product quality, and acceleration of speed to mission.
Coach, educate, and indoctrinate as necessary the development team, the management team, and the mission customer (stakeholders and users) in processes and procedures needed to achieve mission success in concert with the Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) v2.
0 and DoD Standard 2167A (Defense Systems Software Development).
Participate in analysis of alternatives, task planning, scope definition, and technical risk management to ensure successful program execution.
Oversee system design, integration and formal testing of new technologies and system capabilities.
Support the publication of technical briefs, transition briefs, white papers and proposals.
Define and oversee Division IRAD projects in aligned with the technology roadmap.
Work with the C-UxS Division Engineering Director to address skills gaps by mentoring teams, building skills, and identifying strategic hires to strengthen technical capacity across the organization.
Support Engineering Review Boards, Program Management Reviews, system demonstrations, formal test events and other technical interchange meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
Ensure the technology roadmap is executed efficiently and effectively by highlighting technical risks, staffing requirements, and other dependencies.
You'll Bring These
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field of study requiredAt least 15 years of relevant experienceLeadership experience on a large-scale integration program (ie Chief Technologist, Chief Architect, Chief Engineer, Lead Systems Engineer, etc.
)Experience managing internal research and development projectsStrong customer and user relations skills as well as experience at technical interchange meetings and representing the organization in technical mattersExperience conducting system architecture, engineering, analytical, and trade study activities using structured techniques in alignment with established Department of Defense standards to include DoDAF Experience guiding a capability from concept through to a developed system / product Executive level oral communication and presentation skills Excellent written communication skills, with strong experience developing white papers and technical proposalsExperience establishing and maintaining working relationship with all levels of the corporate organizationComfortable working in a fast paced, collaborative and dynamic work environmentMust possess a current Top Secret/SCI clearanceThese Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Experience with Agile DevSecOps and Model Based Systems Engineering processes and tools applied to the development of complex military and intelligence systemsUnderstanding of software defined radio systems including receiver architectures, software channelization, modulation/demodulation techniques, spectral analysis, and/or error-correcting codes.
Experience migrating systems to modern, cloud-based architecturesExperience working large, system of systems design and development to include ACAT-level programs.
Specific knowledge of the C-UxS addressable market, competitors, technologies, and mission-specific threats.
